For those brave enough to enter, Universal has released information about a new Freddy vs. Jason house at this year's Halloween Horror Nights. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the park, they are going old school ghoul with a timeless horror classic. See article here...
2 giant icons in horror film history will face off in the Freddy vs. Jason house during the theme park’s annual scarefest.
“Our goal this year is a nice blend of things that recognize the history of our event,” said Michael Aiello, creative director of the Universal Orlando event.
Halloween Horror Nights runs 30 nights from Sept. 18 to Nov. 1. This year features a record nine haunted houses.
A Freddy vs. Jason maze features A Nightmare on Elm Street’s metal talon-wearing Freddy Krueger and Friday the 13th’s masked, machete-wielding Jason Voorhees going head-to-head.
Freddy and Jason last appeared at Horror Nights in 2007, when each had their own maze, said Aiello.
Guests walking through the house will first see Camp Crystal Lake, said Aiello. Signs and cabins will make guests “feel like you’re right there,” he said.
The first portion of the maze features “all Jason” and his various kills. Fans of the brand will recognize many of the scare scenes from the movie franchise.
The second portion focuses on Freddy as guests are transported to Elm Street through the dream realm, said Aiello.
The maze ends with guests caught in the middle of a Freddy-and-Jason fight, complete with machetes and Freddy’s knive glove flying, as the pair battle it out to a grusome, bloody end.
The maze’s end should appease both fan groups, because there’s no set winner during every tour.
Instead, it will alternate between Freddy emerging victorious and Jason pulling out the final win.
All things USO and Islands of Adventure (IOA).
