The numbers are growing. People enjoy Harry Potter & the other advances Universal has made over the last few years.
2014 numbers are in, with a 17% rise in attendance.
Attendance is estimated to have grown by 17% more than the year prior with 8.3 million, compared with 7.1 million a year earlier.
Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure attendance stayed flat at 8.1 million, according to the report.
Islands of Adventure had been expected to benefit from the new Hogwarts Express.
Without the train … that number may have been lower as opposed to being flat. Visitors go to the new goodies.

SeaWorld’s attendance — estimated 4.7 million is down 8% from the 5.1m of prior year.
SeaWorld has suffered as competitors have opened & broadly promoted new attractions, rides & additions to parks.
SeaWorld is also fighting negative publicity over its killer whales in captivity.

Walt Disney
Walt Disney World parks all saw attendance growth. For example:
Disney’s Magic Kingdom, the world’s most-visited theme park, experienced a 4% increase in attendance to 19.3 million.
Other Disney parks (Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios & Animal Kingdom) increased by 2%.

    72.6 million (3% increase) estimated people visit 1 of Orlando’s big 3 theme-parks in 2014.
22.6% is Universal's estimated market share. That's 1% higher than prior year.
70.9% is Disney’s estimated market share down from the prior year of 71.2%. Look out Disney.
